A pint in London typically costs £6.50 to £6.75 in 2026. That's well above the UK average of about £4.74 for a pint of lager. Here's what we found when we checked 63 London pubs and bars, and where the cheap ones are.
London pint prices at a glance
| Price | Source | |

The gap between the ONS figure and what you pay in a central London pub is real: the ONS average covers the whole country and standard lager, while the London figures include premium lagers, craft and city-centre rents.
What drives the price
- The beer: premium lagers like Peroni and Asahi run £7 or more in London (Peroni averaged £7.03 and Asahi £7.60 in this summer's MA beer report). Cask ale is usually the cheapest pint on the bar.
- The postcode: Soho, the City and Mayfair cost more than Zone 3 locals.
- Who owns the pub: Samuel Smith's and Wetherspoon pubs are famously cheaper; students' union bars cheaper still.
